Read more about Ibiza

Woah, we’re going to Ibiza! Or, that’s what you’ll be singing as soon as you’re done reading through our guide to this quirky little Balearic island. So, whether you’re a family on the go, a loved-up couple, or a group of mates looking for the summer of a lifetime, Ibiza has everything you could want and more on its shores.

Beaches

Lovingly known as the White Isle, the beaches of Ibiza are truly a sight to behold- so grab your sun cream and hit the nearest sands before all the best spots are taken. Top beaches include the sandtastic S’arenal de San Antonio, the Blue Flag worthy Cala Bassa Beach, the 900m long Talamanca Beach, and the intimate cove of Puerto San Miguel.

Food & Drink

These days Ibiza might be best known for its party scene, but its gastronomic offerings are not to be overlooked by any means. Eat like a local with a hearty plate of arroz de matanzas, a rice based dish similar to paella, or, if you’re in the mood for something sweeter, tuck into a delightfully jiggly slice of greixonera. And, while you’re at it, don’t forget to enjoy a traditional Balaeric tipple like Palo or Hierbas Ibicencas alongside your meal.

Culture

Starting life all the way back in 654BC as a Phoenician port, the island of Ibiza has been called home by some of the world’s greatest civilisations over its years, including the Byzantine, Romans, and Moors. As a result, influences of Spanish, Muslim, Christian, and Roman culture can be found throughout the island’s architecture and traditions.

Nightlife

As one of Europe’s premier party destinations, the island of Ibiza finds the world’s hottest DJs descending on its shores each summer to entertain lively sun seekers. You won’t even find yourself limited by land or sea with regular club, pool, beach, and boat parties in full swing around the island no matter the time of day. You can even enjoy the best shows in town without having to leave your hotel if you’re staying at the iconic Ibiza Rocks Hotel.

Things To Do on Ibiza Holidays

Rock your socks (and sandals) off

Located in the heart of San Antonio and just a short walk from the beachfront is the iconic Ibiza Rocks Hotel. Boasting an adults-only atmosphere and world-class DJ performances throughout the summer, Ibiza Rocks is the place to be for anybody looking for a fun-filled Ibiza experience.

If you could turn back time

History lovers can take a trip through time with a visit to the Dalt Vila, Ibiza Town’s ancient fortress. Enjoy a stroll around its fortified walls where you’ll find Islamic architecture and a choice of museums. Each May, this UNESCO World Heritage site is transformed into a medieval town for the Ibiza Medieval Festival.

Splashdown!

Just 10-minutes away from Ibiza Town you’ll find the Aguamar Water Park, promising plenty of opportunity for a splashtastic day out for holidaymakers of all ages. Pack a picnic or enjoy a spot of lunch at one of the many on-site restaurants as you enjoy the thrills of waterslides such as the black hole, kamikazee, and an 8-lane racing slide.

Island escapes

For those in need of a break from the party, the sleepy island of Formentera sits just 17km away from Ibiza’s coastline with regular ferries between the two going throughout the day. With its white sands and turquoise waters, this Caribbean-esque island is the perfect spot to enjoy a laid-back daytrip during your holiday.

Culture

Ibiza is home to many museums so if you fancy a break away from the busy streets, take some much needed time to enjoy one of these popular activities.

The Archaeological Museum is a great source of resource if you are interested in the ancient history of Ibiza and neighbouring Formentera. The Museum of Contemporary Art is a small gallery boasting an excellent sample of permanent and touring contemporary art.

We would also recommend a visit to the Santa Maria Cathedral which includes a museum, chapels, a tall bell tower and a holy cross made from gold and silver over 600 years ago. The Can Marça Caves are a labyrinth of caverns which were once used for alcohol and tobacco smuggling and are over 100,000 years old. Today, you can take a tour around the caves to see them in all their natural glory.

Adventure

From tennis to horse riding in Talamanca and golf to mountain biking in Cala Llonga, you'll find it all here. Ibiza has several luxurious gyms should you want to keep in shape on holiday. The Mediterranean also offers great watersport opportunities including waterskiing and scuba diving.

Nightlife

Ibiza is one of the most popular destinations in Europe for people looking for a holiday with world class nightlife. Home to some of the biggest and best nightclubs in the world, the White Isle draws thousands of people each summer. The music here is unlike any you will find elsewhere; Ibiza has her own sound known as the Balearic Beat. Popular among musicians around the world, DJ's often come to Ibiza to introduce their new dance music tracks.

Ibiza town is where the "super clubs" are while San Antonio also has many popular clubs and bars. Santa Eulalia is more casual and attracts families and couples who want a busy resort without the heavy nightlife.
