Do I need to quarantine when I arrive?

  • No, if you have proof of full vaccination and a negative PCR test, then you do not need to quarantine.

What testing requirements are in place?

  • There are no entry requirements to mainland Portugal.

Do I need to prove my vaccination status elsewhere?

  • Restrictions and procedures can change quickly and you may be asked to demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated or provide a negative PCR test to access shops, attractions, restaurants and public transport. Please check the FCDO page below for more information.

Do I need to fill in a Passenger Locator Form or similar?

  • No. You no longer need to fill in a Passenger Locator Form when travelling to mainland Portugal.

Do I need to quarantine when I arrive?

  • No, you do not need to quarantine when you arrive in the Azores.

What testing requirements are in place?

  • For entry to the Azores, visitors aged 12 and above must provide an EU digital vaccination certificate to show evidence of full vaccination, OR take a PCR test within 72 hours of departure, OR a rapid lateral flow test within 24 hours, OR show evidence of COVID-19 recovery (testing positive 11 - 180 days before departure). Visitors will be screened on arrival.
