It’s lovely to try new and exotic holiday locations, but it’s always nice to have feedback from people who have been before and can give us some helpful tips.
We asked our customers, also known as our army of travel experts, for their tips and recommendations on holidays in Egypt. We had some great responses and you can see the best tips below – including our top tip from Mikey Reid who wins a £25 holiday voucher!
Mikey Reid ‘Diving at Ras mohammed in sharm is stunning! Take a trip to the old market.. Lots of people and lots of sellers trying to get your attention.Reef oasis beach resort is a stunning hotel built in huge grounds and has a buggy shuttle to the private beach (gives you an idea of the scale of the complex) on the beach they make pizza completely from scratch to enjoy with your cold beer.. Or go up to the cliff top hotel and enjoy the view of the sea! Stunningly beautiful! Best place I have ever been to.’
Amanda Best ‘Sharks bay is lovely, we stayed at the Pyramisa, Egyptians are very friendly you just need to avoid going off the beaten track and best stick to organised excursions. Buy sea shoes for kids as the coral pieces are sharp, take packs of crayons or pencils to give to local children, they prefer this to money, their little faces light up. I’ve been to Egypt 3 times, it’s a fantastic country x’
Paul White ‘Take your own medication for the inevitable stomach problems, take rock shoes for snorkelling (the coral is sharp!), stay out of the midday sun, lock away valuables in a safe as the maids can be light fingered, explore the Red Sea as much as possible as it is fantastic.’
Joanne Healey ‘dont be afraid to take the local flag down buses in sharm, they are safe and cheap and cost pennies instead of pounds x’
Eve Morris ‘Egypt since the uprising has lost alot of tourism, The people are lovely generous and helpful , the hotels are fab , the best tip i could give anyone is to tip well , as they cannot do enough for you and one english pound goes a long way x’
