Flying can be an uncomfortable experience at the best of times… “It’ll be worth it when we get there, it’ll be worth it when we get there” is a common mantra among the more dubious flyers. What you don’t need during this time are little annoyances from the people around you making the experience even less enjoyable. Let’s take a look at some of the usual culprits…
The armrest hogger:
We’ve all had to deal with this one… just who does that middle armrest belong to? Subtle nudges, passive aggressive glares; there really is no polite way to claim your forearm comfort. Is this new invention the solution…?
The chatterbox:
Sometimes we want to socialise and make new friends… other times we want to don our sleep masks and not be disturbed. If you’re the latter, getting stuck next to a ‘Chatty Cathy’ could make for a less than enjoyable flight. Is putting in ear plugs a bit rude?
The snorer:
Well they’ve woken everyone around them up… so we’re unsure how they haven’t woken themselves up! Yes that’s right, it’s the much despised public-snorer. Louder-than-usual coughs and gentle elbow jabs won’t rouse this deep sleeper. Hopefully their significant other will step in…
Ok, so this one can’t be avoided. It may be a little annoying when you’re trying to catch some zzzzzz’s during your flight… but it can’t be much fun for the parents either! Boredom, ear popping, little ‘accidents’; they’re all contributors to headache inducing screams. Believe it or not, there are some things you can do to prepare for such incidents; check out our article Mum’s top tips for flying with the tots for some advice on how to combat those mid-flight wobblers!
The rowdy group:
So you’re on a flight to Ibiza – this doesn’t necessarily mean you’re there to party! There are some beautiful quiet areas to the lovely island, but this seems unknown to the rowdy bunch to your left… Try to remain calm, for a lot of people the holiday starts at the airport!
