Where to go when – a holiday for every month of the year

At some point, someday, we’ll be back to what we do best – with our feet up and a beer in hand, basking in blissful blue skies and enviable ocean views. But for now, we can still dream. Because when travel inevitably does make a welcomed return to our lives, you might just find you feel like mixing things up a bit. Book a spontaneous last-minute escape. Tick an item off your travel bucket list. Or make up for lost time with a tropical trip to far-flung shores. That’s exactly why we wanted to bring you the low down on where to go when – with a holiday for every month of the year. So when that day does finally come, you can jet off on the dream holiday that you deserve.


Barbados holidays

Bask in some of the world’s most picturesque beaches, pop your feet up in a plush hotel and immerse yourself in the radiant rays of Barbados’ dry season. If you’re planning on jetting off in January, it’s bound to be one to remember – that’s for sure. And to make it even better. You’ll be jetting off to holiday heaven, whilst every other person you know plods along with what is undoubtedly one of the dullest months of the year. Who said the fun has to stop after Christmas? We know where we’d rather be.

February sits right in the peak of the Dominican Republic’s dry season and the temperatures can reach as high as 29°C. Perfect time for a Valentine’s getaway of a lifetime? Ah magical March. The arrival of spring, the run-up to summer – we welcome you with open arms. But the Great British summer is still a little way off just yet. So if you’re eager to squeeze in some sunshine before it really starts hotting up over here – then a quick trip to Tenerife could do just the trick. Graced with good weather pretty much all year round – trusty Tenerife is a great place to be at this time of year. With temperatures ranging from 21-15°C, it’s the perfect time to explore the incredible Mount Teide if you like a hike!

See phenomenal Phuket and captivating Koh Samui in all their glory by visiting in the high dry season. April sees some soaring temperatures and nothing but radiant sunshine so heading to the breezy tropical beaches is a must. It’s also the time of Thai New Year, with vibrant nation-wide celebrations, making April a great time to soak up a spot of culture too.

In the words of The Temptations, ‘When it’s cold outside‘.. we’d rather have the month of May. Although things are hotting up at home about May time, it can be one of the best times to beat the summer crowds to the Algarve, yet still see this gorgeous region under the golden sunshine. Temperatures can reach highs of up to 22°C, so it’s the perfect time to adventure along coastal paths and end the day with some tasty Portuguese tapas.

As June comes round, the gorgeous Greek mainland starts to see toasty temperatures, long sunshine hours and warm summery evenings – making it one of the best times to visit. Enjoy strolling the city without the soaring crowds in the months to come, but still see glorious sunshine, meaning you can enjoy the rolling ocean waves in all the right ways.

So you can spend September in true summer style, soaking up the twinkling oceans of the Antalya region without a care in the world. Plus, you’ll just skip peak season prices, so you might be able to bag yourself a bargain too.

The nightlife might not be as bubbly at this time of year – but it’s great for those seeking a quieter break, as well as avid adventurers who love to explore the coastlines.
