Our passport is one of the most important things we need to take on holiday, yet recent research suggests that we spend a whopping £5m replacing them when we lose them every year.
The amount of avoidable cases reported to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office has rocketed by 300% over the last year, with 80 emergency documents being issued every day. Bizarre reasons for lost passports include using it as a beermat or notebook while on holiday.
Needless to say, if you’re going on holiday, check your passport hasn’t expired well before you travel, and keep it in a safe and secure place while you relax by the pool!
