Top waterparks in Europe

What’s better than a day at a waterpark? Well… actually we can’t think of anything. Waterparks are ridiculously good fun for big kids as well as little ones – not to mention the ones who refuse to grow up (daring dads and thrill-mad mums, we’re looking at you). Whether you like floating down the lazy river or speeding down the scariest slides you can find, waterparks are a great way to bring the whole family together on holiday. We’re all about slides and splashing at On the Beach, so here’s our list of top waterparks in Europe. How many have you visited?

PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park – Salou, Spain

First on our list of top waterparks in Europe is PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park. You’ll find this oasis of splashtastic fun in Spain, close to Salou. There are waterslides for all ages here – from vertical drops to gentle slopes. There’s also a wave pool, sunbathing area and plenty of places to grab a snack or a drink. Fancy some adventure on dry land too? There’s even a theme park on site, with Europe’s highest rollercoaster numbered amongst its thrilling attractions. Stay at PortAventura Hotel Caribe & Theme Park for buckets of fun on your doorstep.

Sol Katmandu Park – Magaluf, Majorca

Say hola to Sol Katmandu Park, one of Majorca’s top tourist spots. Located in Magaluf, just a short stroll from the beach of the same name, this theme park includes the ridiculously fun Katlantis Splash Park with slides, water buckets and kids’ pools, as well as a theme park with one-of-a-kind experiences such as The House of Illusion, the XD Dark Ride and a soft play adventure zone. It’s the perfect place to visit for a full day of family fun in the sun. The park has a dedicated hotel too; you can stay close to the action at Sol Katmandu Park & Resort.

Waterworld – Ayia Napa, Cyprus

Located in the party capital of Cyprus, this waterpark is great for an aquatic adventure with your mates as well as a day of thrills with the fam. The ancient Greece theme of this attraction gives the whole place a really exciting feel that’s authentically Greek, as well as cartoonishly fun. With a seemingly endless map of colourful slides and water rides, you can dip, swoosh and dunk your way around Waterworld to your heart’s content. Book a stay in a nearby hotel, such as Mon Repos Apartments, to make the most the slides and rides.

Siam Park – Costa Adeje, Tenerife

Although geographically located near the northwest coast of Africa, Tenerife is as much a part of Europe as mainland Spain. So, obviously, we’re adding Siam Park to our list of top waterparks in Europe. Continually voted number one waterpark in the world, this Canary Island water kingdom is home to adrenaline-fueled waterslides, plenty of family fun and relaxing areas such as the Mai Thai River. We like the sound of the Champagne Club too – why not end your day of adventure here in style? Laguna Park II is a great place to stay for a family-friendly holiday close to Siam Park.

Waterpark – Faliraki, Rhodes

Waterpark does what it says on the tin, and much more. Faliraki’s aquatic offering has extreme slides and family-friendly rides, as well as a lazy river and a wave pool. Little rascals will love the pirate ship and mini slides, and you can even race them to the bottom on the head first mat racer ride. Hop on the little train to explore the whole park or dare to take on the black hole and twister rides. Book a break at a nearby hotel like Evita Beach, and be prepared for the slide of your life!
