You may have heard in the news about the current financial situation in Greece; so whether you’re in-resort or due to travel soon, we wanted to give you a quick update to let you know how you may be affected:
- The locals are the people being affected with a limit of €60 per day from ATMs. This does not apply to foreign visitors, so please don’t worry.
- Foreign cards are working as normal so you shouldn’t experience any disruption
- There are reports of a limited amount of bank notes in the ATMs so we recommend using your card for any transactions or if you’re still yet to travel, we recommend that you take cash in Euros, as well as having a card to use.
We’re in contact with the Foreign Office to keep updated about the situation, so if there’s anything that changes and will affect you, we’ll be in touch.
In the meantime, please check our Greek Travel Advice page for any new updates.
