Starting a family and buying a house is not as important as travelling the world according to a recent survey, asking us to reveal our ‘bucket lists’.
More than half of those asked chose travelling the world, compared to just 38% of people longing to buy a new house. Linked to travelling, learning a foreign language came third on the list of things to do before you die and shockingly, getting married and having children came fourth and fifth respectively. Living abroad featured just a fraction below marriage and children, confirming our love for foreign shores.
It’s interesting to see just how highly we rate travelling and experiencing other cultures. With so many airlines constantly introducing new routes, jet setting has never been so easy and affordable, which is clearly fuelling our love affair for warmer climes. After house prices rocketed, making it harder than ever to get onto the housing market, it would seem people are turning their sights to travel.
