According to a new survey, three quarters of holidaymakers between the ages of 18 and 64 love to try new pursuits when abroad, with more than half of us voting thrilling, rally driving as the number one holiday adventure.
Beach and water activities are also a big hit with holidaymakers when we are abroad. Taking the plunge and trying scuba diving was voted in second place and wakeboarding is named the third top attraction for holidaymakers abroad. Sailing and wind-surfing came fourth and fifth respectively, with all of these, understandably much preferred by holidaymakers when away in warmer climes.
A massive 77% of those questioned said that it was essential for them to know they were being instructed by the correctly qualified professionals, before taking part in any adventure activities. Many holidaymakers even research excursions and adventures before they travel and read up on reviews.
The results show that when we are abroad we are more likely to take advantage of the warmer waters. With places such as the Mediterranean sea warm enough to go in just a swimsuit and clearer, more exciting waters; activities such as scuba diving and wake boarding become a lot more attractive.
