Missing your furry friends more than family?

A recent survey reveals that despite being renowned as a man’s best friend, it’s actually the ladies who miss their pooch most when on holiday, with a staggering 37% of women voting their dogs to the top of their ‘miss list’.

Contrary to popular belief romance isn’t dead, with men admitting to missing their partner most when on holiday without them, compared to just 21% of women reciprocating the feeling. It’s not just partners that fall short to pups, with women admitting to missing their dogs more than children, friends and family.

It would appear many dog owners go to great lengths to keep in touch with their pets when on holiday, with 40% admitting to calling or texting regularly to check their pooch is OK. A whopping 14% admit to ‘chatting’ to their furry friend on the phone, 5% have a ‘Skype conversation’ and 6% have written them a postcard.

Many of us see our pet as a member of the family, so it is understandable that we miss them when jetting off overseas. It’s also interesting to see that the results of this survey begs the question of whether a dog really is man’s best friend, when women are the ones missing their dogs more.
