What do kids want on holiday?

We spend hours searching for our perfect holiday, ensuring that every detail is perfect and most importantly, the kids are happy!

But what is it that kids really want from a holiday? According to a recent survey of 2000 youngsters, this differs quite drastically from their parent’s dream vacation.

Despite sunshine being the main factor when looking for a holiday for most adults, only 20% of children listed this as something they wanted from a trip. Sandy beaches topped their list of priorities (no doubt for sandcastle building), with 67% saying the beach should be no more than a 10 minute walk away.

Despite long-haul destinations becoming more and more popular for family holidays, 55% of children asked, said the journey should take no longer than 4 hours.

Top activities kids expect on holiday are a theme park and water park, with seven out of ten kids saying their least favourite activity on holiday would be long walks.

Surprisingly, 64% of children believe it is crucial they visit a resort where they can speak English when they go on a family holiday, instead of embracing foreign culture.

What do you look for on your family holiday? Or better still, what do your kids look for?
