How to keep the kids happy on holiday

What do you look for when choosing a holiday? Sunshine… Sandy beaches… Fancy restaurants..? Well according to a recent survey, a quarter of parents admit to choosing their holidays based around their children’s desires rather than their own, with nearly 50% saying their kids get an equal say.

With the winter months drawing in, families are starting to plan their Christmas getaways and it would seem that children are having more of a say than ever before about where the family will go on holiday.

From those surveyed, a whopping 38% of children had helped their parents choose their family’s holiday resort, with some aged 12 to 16 even claiming to have booked a family holiday themselves.

Whilst mums and dads want to relax on a beach or see the sights, their kids unfortunately don’t agree, instead opting for holidays with lots of activities like theme parks and water parks. Despite this, 16% of parents admitted to booking the getaways that they wanted, instead of consulting their children with 5% even saying they’d prefer not to take the kids at all!
