A recent survey has revealed that we have a generation of junior jetsetters on our hands, as two thirds of under 10s have already been on a plane and whisked away to sunnier shores.
Following a boom in budget airlines over the past 15 years, kids are now considerably better travelled than their grandparents and parents. Results suggest jetting off to warmer climes isn’t just a one off occurrence, as almost a quarter have travelled abroad by air, at least four times before reaching secondary school. Beach holidays are the most popular choice for families, with a whopping 61% taking their children to enjoy a bucket and spade holiday abroad.
Although we enjoyed a beautiful summer this year, for the majority of past summers the weather has been unbearable. With the sodden school holidays, coupled with the influx in bargain flight prices, it’s no surprise parents are packing cases and taking kids to guaranteed sun spots.
