Increase in snap happy ‘selfie’ addicts

A recent survey reveals we are a nation of ‘selfie’ addicts and self-edited snaps, all in order to flaunt our holiday to friends back home.

More than half of us admit to posting photos on social media sites whilst in-resort, instead of waiting until we return home. The survey revealed that after just one day of being on holiday, we post photos online of ourselves soaking in the sun. One in fourteen women use Photoshop on their sunny snaps and bikini shots before sharing and quite surprisingly, men check in on Facebook more frequently than women do. More than one in ten holidaymakers even admit to purposely going out of their way to visit posh bars and restaurants, to make their holiday photos look even more enviable.

We all love to share our holiday photos but it can sometimes cause us to worry about how we look, rather than just relaxing and enjoying every second away. With all the latest apps, enabling us to add more filters and effects to make the images look even more spectacular, it’s difficult not to get too snap happy abroad.
