‘I would move there tomorrow if I could’

Our Mum’s In The Know competition was such a success! So many of you told us about your favourite holiday memory, we wanted to share some of the ones we loved, not just the winner!

Emily Radford’s recollection of her family holiday to Portugal made us giggle!

Most of the Radford family holidays have been to the Algarve in Portugal, its so family friendly and easy to get to, I would move there tomorrow if I could!

During our last visit there, one of the boys caught a fish with his bare hands all on his own, it was almost like Steve Irwin wrestling to catch a ferocious crocodile!… This is Lui’s memory, mine is the smile on his little face and that the fish was floating on its side at the time……but lets not shatter his dreams!

Kai’s favourite memory was from Zoomarine, also in the Algarve, flying down a gigantic water-slide faster than a speeding bullet, all I remember is gripping on to him all the way down, I was petrified, thank goodness I had a brave man to look after me, even if he was only 5!

Being away on holiday is so much easier when the kids are off school, than being at home stuck in the wind and rain. We have so many memories of playing at the beach, eating out, sightseeing and generally having fun as a family, not doing anything out of the ordinary, but when you do these things abroad, with no interruptions from normal daily life, the pleasure is so much more. Everybody needs a little escapism now and again and what would life be without these wonderful treasured times.
