Our Top Tips – How to Travel with Kids

The family summer holiday is great isn’t it? Leaving the cold British weather behind and jetting off to a land of sun, sea and sand with you and your loved ones. Here at On the Beach, we want everyone to enjoy there holiday as much as possible so here are our top tips of how to travel with kids…

Make sure everyone is well rested

If you’ve got an early morning flight make sure that the kids get an early night so that they’re happier to get up in the morning. An afternoon flight is probably your best bet as it means you have more time to make sure you’ve got everything you need and everyone will be well rested (considering the kids aren’t too excited).

Plan some family games

Waiting in the airport is the perfect time to spend some quality time with your family so why not plan some fun games in advance? Eye spy is a great one to keep everyone occupied while you’re waiting for your flight. Or bring along some puzzle or colouring books. Travel Journals

A fun way to keep the kids entertained whilst on your journey is to get them to keep a travel journey. They can write down everything they see from planes taking off to shops in the airport and draw pictures of cool things they see. When you land why not get them to write down any foreign words they see continue this throughout the course of your holiday?

Bring healthy snacks for the journey

Chances are the kids will get hungry during your travels but instead of giving them sugar filled sweets (to avoid an over excited flight), why not pack some healthy snacks such as fruit, carrot sticks and crackers. Making a travel picnic for the plane could also save you a fortune…
