Can you describe a relaxing day in Catalonia?
Spend the day in the spa. There are more spa resorts in Catalonia than anywhere else in Spain… and they are also amongst the oldest in the whole of the Iberian Peninsula! Visitors should make the most of this and start the day off at one of our world-class spa hotels or thalassotherapy centres, or unwind in one of Catalonia’s thermal villages.
After lunch, visitors can explore a picturesque town before taking a stroll along our many beaches, or enjoy an afternoon of sailing – one of my favourite routes is from Barcelona to Sitges or the Mussel experience in Delta de l’Ebre.
What do people do to relax with their families in Catalonia?
For families with a strong sense of adventure, an easy, relaxing walk through some of our most beautiful landscapes and natural parks is a must. Favourite places to do this include Montseny village and La Garrotxa, both of which are around 90 mins drive from the coastal resort of Lloret de Mar
Families can also enjoy idyllic walks along the GR 92 coastal path from Llançà to Portbou for a worthwhile trek around 3 hours long!
What do you do personally to switch off?
One of my favourite things to do to switch off is explore a new stretch of beach, secret cove or a place I’ve never been before – I love getting lost in the tangle of streets and cities and stumbling across new restaurants, art galleries and museums. I also enjoy getting out on the water or hiking through Catalonia’s natural parks.
Where are the best places to relax in Catalonia?
Montserrat Mountain is such a scenic place to relax… With it being only an hour drive away from Barcelona, it makes for a great day trip.
Or if you didn’t want to travel so far, Tibidabo Mountain makes for excellent views over Barcelona city. Far de St Sebastià in Costa Brava at sunset. These are the ultimate spots to relax.
