How far would you go for a tan?

Is your main objective when going on holiday to return with an amazing tan to show off to all your friends? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Everyone likes to soak up the sun and it’s always nice to have a healthy glow – as long as it’s done safely. But how far would you go to look tanned?

The BBC has recently reported on the increase of illegal tanning injections in the UK and warned of the danger in using them. These injections are illegal to sell, however are not illegal to use. They work by increasing the melatonin levels in your skin, affectively replicating the affects of prolonged sun exposure.

Doctors are concerned about the drug’s use as it can produce the same skin damage as sunbeds and has been known to result in various side effects including nausea, loss of appetite, changes in skin pigmentation and the development of moles.

Let us know your thoughts and remember to stay safe in the sun on your next On the Beach holiday.
