New research has revealed that hotels around the world are charging extortionate rates for holidaymakers to access Wi-Fi.
Large chain hotels have been named as the worst culprits, with some expecting holidaymakers to pay up to £20 for 24 hour access.
The actual cost for a hotel to offer Wi-Fi is very small, so there is no need to charge over the odds. If you know in advance that you’ll need to use the internet on holiday, it’s worth checking the small print to see how much you’ll be charged. Many independent hotels offer free Wi-Fi so let’s hope the chain hotels follow their lead.
