According to a recent TripAdvisor poll, more than two in three British travellers admit to taking something from a hotel room following their stay. Despite probably never being used once home, it has become customary to take toiletries, shower caps – even hotel slippers.
The survey also revealed however, that one in four hoteliers reported missing towels; one in ten reported missing hangers; and 7% found batteries removed from the remote controls after guests had checked out. It seems that Brits really can’t resist a freebie – even if it does result in drawers filled with dozens of tiny shampoo bottles…
