Holidaymakers fail at digital detox

Digital detox breaks are a fast growing trend as computers and mobiles dominate many of our working lives. A recent survey reveals one in three holidaymakers attempting a ‘digital detox’ when away on holiday fail miserably – we just can’t stay away from Facebook and Twitter!

Results also found 70% of the 1000 holidaymakers surveyed couldn’t stay away from their mobiles and laptops, feeling the need to keep in touch with colleagues back in the office. A huge 65% of those asked had intended on taking a complete break from work but only two thirds managed to do so, with 25% checking their emails multiple times a day and the majority even replying.

With the threat of hundreds of emails filling our inboxes, it’s not surprising that so many of us buckle under the pressure and log on whilst away. We work hard to enjoy a well-deserved holiday, so be sure to fit in plenty of time relaxing in the sun and keep email checks to a minimum.
