Hold luggage turns hi-tech with new electronic tags

British Airways is set to trial new hi-tech electronic tags next month, which could see the end of out-dated paper tags still used on hold luggage.

Instead of being given a paper tag every time we fly, the new device will allow passengers to simply hold their smartphones over the electronic tag to update it with their flight details and destination. This new hi-tech tag – patent pending – will not only save passengers time when travelling through the airport, but will also cut down on the use of paper and help our carbon footprint!
