It seems these Elvis lyrics are becoming more and more relevant as a recent survey suggests broken-hearted Britons love nothing more than booking into a hotel for a much-needed holiday after a love split.
These ‘heartbreak holidays’ are the perfect way to escape from a break-up, with a quarter of Brits claiming that not only do they want to get over their ex, but they also admit that this type of holidaying is in the hope of finding a new love interest.
Ibiza topped the list of holiday destinations chosen by newly-single Brits, with The Greek island of Rhodes taking the number two spot and Majorca coming in third.
13% of people surveyed admitted that it was mainly the influence of their friends which made them book a holiday… what better way to get over a break up than being surrounded by your mates, sunning yourself with a cocktail in hand?
