Don’t be blue!

OK, so it’s Blue Monday, generally believed to be the most depressing day of the year. For those who don’t know, Blue Monday is the Monday that falls in the last full week of January.

Reasons for Blue Monday include; early and dark nights, cold weather, high debt levels after Christmas, failed New Year resolutions, general low motivation, and the fact that Christmas is over for yet another year.

Wow, I feel blue just writing about it! But, stop! There are reasons to be happy… For one, January is nearly over and we’re heading in the direction of summer. This can only be good. Secondly, though our purses are feeling the pinch, payday is not that far away.

Here’s our guide to getting through Blue Monday by enjoying the free things in life:

  1. Watch a YouTube video of babies/kittens/puppies/pandas/penguins being cute and/or funny.
  2. Go for a walk in the crisp winter air and enjoy the beauty that’s around you.
  3. Find a pair of shoes and/or a new item (dare I say holiday) you’re going to buy online once you’ve been paid.
  4. Go for a run – exercise releases endorphins that make you happy. However, I (and OTB for that matter) take no liability if you fall over trying to do so in the snow.
  5. Undertake a random act of kindness.
  6. Have a good old clear out, you’ll feel so much better. Tidy house, tidy mind and all that…
  7. When was the last time you went to a library? Read a good book.
  8. Pamper yourself at home; you’ll be surprised how many face masks, lotions and bubble baths you’ve got lying around (though maybe less so if you’re a boy).
  9. Catch up on your sleep.
  10. Go for a brew and catch up with friends and family.

And now, for the shameless plug…

Did you know we do hotel deposits from £1 per person? You can secure your next holiday from as little as £55 each. This holiday deposit breaks down into a percentage of your flight cost and £1pp hotel deposit. Information here: http://www.onthebeach.co.uk/one-pound-deposits

Once you’ve secured your holiday, you only need to pay the balance of your holiday 28 days before you travel – though do be aware, there will be a debit/credit card fee on all payments you make.

So get your holiday planned and look forward to the summer (as if you weren’t already). On the Beach not only offer great value sunshine beach holidays but also flexible payments to pay it off bit by bit, making it all so much more affordable.

With free child places, in-resort support and us being ATOL Protected, wouldn’t you rather be On the Beach?
