Everybody knows we do beach holidays, but what about city breaks? Well, we couldn’t completely turn our back on the beach could we?! That’s why we offer a beautiful little thing called city beach breaks. Combining both the chilled vibe of the beach and the lively nature of a city break, you’re free to enjoy the best of both worlds…
Alicante, Spain
The City
Right on the south-eastern tip of Costa Blanca sits the beautiful city of Alicante. Visit the regal Castle of Santa Barbara that looks over the houses below and the architecturally stunning Church of St. Mary.
The Beaches
San Juan Beach is famously picturesque and is often described as one of the best beaches in Spain. The other option is Playa del Postiguet beach which is right in the heart of the city – just what we want!
Tel Aviv, Israel
The City
A melting pot of history and culture, Tel Aviv is packed with opportunities to explore, as well as a handful of beautiful beaches. Hit the strip with its world-class clubbing scene or enjoy a chilled night of wining and dining in some of the best restaurants that Israel has to offer.
The Beaches
Tel Aviv is home to over 120 miles of golden sands to explore including Jaffa Beach, a chilled-out space which is popular with surfers due to its huge waves, while Metzitzim attracts families due to its shallow and calm waters.
Barcelona, Spain
The City
There’s just so much to see in Barcelona. Arguably its most famous structure, Gaudi’s La Sagrada Familia cathedral (pictured), was started in 1882 and still hasn’t been completed! A visit to La Rambla – Barcelona’s most famous street – is highly recommended. The street is home to the Liceu theatre, statuettes, street artists, food and artisan markets.
The Beaches
Barcelona has beaches a-plenty. Nova Icària Beach, Barceloneta Beach, Bogatell Beach, Ocata Beach… I’m going to run out of breath soon enough. There’s a beach to suit you, depending on how the rest of your day is looking.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Dubai is one of the world’s fastest-growing tourism destinations. Along with its sister town, Abu Dhabi, it has all the superlatives covered… they have the tallest building, the only 7 star hotel, the largest indoor theme-park, and arguably the most beautiful modern mosque in the world between them.
The Beaches
Beaches are bustling in Dubai. Many of the hotels have their own private stretches of beaches which are hugely popular and bustling with activity. There are free and entry-fee beaches; the latter are usually preferred by families.
Palma, Majorca
The City
It’s not really a secret that we love Palma. The Cathedral is beautiful and the streets behind it are lovely and quaint – all perfect Instagram opportunities. Did we mention that the restaurants and shops in the area are brilliant too?
The Beaches
Ca’n Pere Antoni beach is a short little walk from the centre of Palma de Mallorca city – a small stretch of beach begins not far from the Cathedral. It’s a Blue Flag beach and all!
