Cashing in at airports costs us millions

It has been revealed that as a nation we waste a whopping £18 million each year, through buying foreign currency at airports!

It’s reported a huge 1.65 million holidaymakers still use airport’s bureaux de change, which are renowned for offering poor exchange rates and hefty commission charges. To avoid the costly bureaux de changes, we have been advised to instead withdraw from ATM’s abroad or for the best rates order online in advance – that’s if you’re super organised!

The value of the British pound still isn’t great against the Euro, so it is even more important to ensure we are getting the best exchange rates for our holiday spending money – that’s extra ice lollies for the little ones and cocktails by the pool for adults!

We all spend plenty of time carefully choosing our dream holiday destination and checking out the best accommodation, so be sure to spend a little time checking out where to exchange your cash.
