Despite the lack of tiny trunks, Daniel Craig returns to beautiful beach settings in the most recent Bond film, Skyfall.
The secret agent lothario sets up camp on Koca Calis Beach in Fethiye, Turkey after his former employers have him listed as missing and presumed dead. Only a high-profile attack on the MI6 building in London is enough to coax him out of retirement and leave his seafront paradise.
This coastal town in the southwest of Turkey is a popular tourist venue, but don’t go looking to
play scorpion-themed drinking games like Bond, the bar was constructed for the film and immediately dismantled, apparently on the orders of the town’s Mayor.
Don’t worry though, there are still plenty of bars and restaurants along the promenade for visitors to enjoy (but we’d still recommend you leave the scorpions alone…).
For this Billion dollar film, nothing was going to stop the production team filming on the perfect beach setting in Fethiye, they negotiated with 613 part owners of Calis Beach so that they could film along the coastline.
Perhaps not as illustrious as the Bahamas beach scene in Casino Royale (we can’t think why…), but nevertheless, Skyfall boasts some of the most beautifully pristine Turkish sands.
