On the Beach Charity Challenge – Just a Drop

It’s a little difficult to host a beach-themed charity event when your offices are in chilly Manchester… So as bat and ball doesn’t really lend itself to our cobbled streets, we’ve decided to try our hand at a 24 hour badminton challenge!

The rules are simple. At least 2 people have to be on court playing badminton at any one time, rotating for 24 hours, starting at midday on Friday 27th February to midday on Saturday 28th.

How we do that, we have no idea. Other than copious amounts of caffeine, loud music and no doubt the odd hallucination.

We’re doing this to raise money for Just a Drop, a fantastic charity that provides clean, sustainable drinking water for communities who need it most. Any donation you make will make a very real difference to people’s lives.

Nearly three billion people die from water-borne diseases every year because of unsafe water. We take it for granted that there’s always clean water in our homes and at our local supermarket. But it’s not like that for everyone. Just a Drop helps make clean, safe drinking water available to everyone.

The institution raises money to build wells, install hand pumps and implement health and sanitation programmes. The organisation claim that just over £10 can supply a person in a developing country with safe water for life and since its creation, the charity has raised more than £750,000 and helped over 800,000 people in 24 countries.
