Holidaymakers can expect to pay double the price for key airport facilities if they choose to pay on the day rather than booking in advance, according to new research.
The greatest savings can be found at Manchester Airport, where couples can save a huge £176 on airport costs by booking in advance. Passengers at London Heathrow can save more than 45% by checking out deals in weeks or even days before departure, and travellers flying from Edinburgh International airport can save almost 40% on facilities.
The huge difference in price was particularly evident when booking airport parking, with couples saving a whopping £134 by finding an online bargain. Airport hotel rates were also found to vary significantly when booked in advance, with guests able to save a huge 56% by booking just seven nights before, compared to the rate offered on the day.
With many people still feeling the pinch, it’s no doubt welcome news to hear that holidaymakers can save substantial amounts of money by booking early. Although many holidaymakers wait to book last minute bargains, this research shows that a little extra planning can not only ease stress on the day, but also save money towards an extra treat on holiday!
