Iberostar is one of the most exciting hotel chains in Europe with 40 hotels in beach locations such as Ibiza, Lanzarote and Tenerife – where I was lucky enough to spend 7 nights at the 4* Iberostar Las Dalias in the resort of Costa Adeje.
Welcome to the Iberostar Las Dalias
After a short transfer of around 35 minutes from Tenerife South Airport, we were dropped outside our hotel and made our way to reception. There was no waiting around and we were greeted straight away by two friendly staff members who were more than happy to chat away and ask us about our journey.
While we were checking in we were surprised with 2 glasses of Prosecco which we were then allowed to enjoy in our room while we settled in…
Room with a view
Located on the 9th floor, our room gave us a fantastic view over the pool area and our balcony benefited from the sun for most of the daytime.
Our bed was huge with enough room for four adults and was made up daily, along with having fresh towels and a chocolate waiting for us when we returned from exploring our new surroundings.
All-inclusive menu
The food and drink at the hotel was great and we made sure we enjoyed as many meals as possible in the hotel restaurant. Our stay at the hotel was on an all-inclusive basis meaning we could enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel, as well as snacks throughout the day and all of our drinks.
There were four food stations dotted around the restaurant, all offering something different from the last along with bread stands featuring every type of bread you could want to enjoy with your meal.
Breakfast: Continental breakfast, fresh fruit and yoghurt, cooked meats, waffles and pancakes…
Lunch: Meats, pasta, paella, chips, fresh vegetables
Dinner: Show cooking, Italian, Mexican and Tapas themed nights, range of desserts
Snacks: Venus Bar by the pool offering sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, chips, paella
Drinks: Alcoholic (branded), soft drinks, hot drinks all available throughout the day until 00:30
Hotel entertainment
Our first evening at the hotel was karaoke night and the entertainment room was filled with excited guests who were looking forward to the evening. Many of the guests were willing to show off their singing skills with a mix of karaoke classics such as We Will Rock You and My Way to a handful of French and Spanish songs sung by guests at the hotel. The atmosphere was great with one man even receiving a standing ovation for his performance.
Other evening entertainment included a magic show, a Motown singer and a variety show which saw the in-resort entertainment team do their best Grease impression while bingo took place in the afternoon with some Iberostar branded products as prizes.
There was also a mini-club for the little ones as well as a playground and a games room complete with pool table and ping-pong table.
Hotel grounds
We arrived at our hotel during the evening so we couldn’t wait until morning to see what our home for the next week had to offer – and it didn’t disappoint! There were plenty of sunbeds around the pool area and we never had any trouble finding one and with towels available for a deposit of just €5, we were able to make the most of the relaxing environment.
We were treated to some live music throughout our stay including a saxophone player who made our afternoon cocktail even more enjoyable.
Our favourite part of the hotel was definitely the adult-only area which featured a Jacuzzi, sun loungers in shallow waters and covered sunbeds which sprayed refreshing mist every 5 minutes or so…
Location
The hotel is centrally located in the popular resort of Costa Adeje and just a 5 minute walk away from the nearest beach where you’ll find many shops, bars and places to eat while watching the waves roll in. Right opposite the hotel was the San Euginio Shopping Complex which was made up of two floors and offered a mix of local shops and big brands such as Pandora.
A taxi rank sits right outside the hotel meaning if you fancy heading in to another resort, such as Playa de las Americas, you won’t have to travel far. We chose to walk into Las Americas taking the beach route and found ourselves there in around 15 minutes.
Iberostar Las Dalias team
From the moment we walked into the Iberostar Las Dalias, the staff couldn’t do enough for us. During the day we were offered fresh fruit by members of the team who made sure every person in the pool area was looked after. We were also lucky enough to have the team bring our drinks over to us during the evening entertainment meaning we didn’t miss any of the show.
The entertainment team were extremely talented and it was clear that they loved their jobs which made watching their shows even better – they were also great at getting everyone involved whether this was with a game of bingo, karaoke or just clapping along to the entertainment.
Overall, our experience at the Las Dalias was great and we will definitely be heading back very soon!
