Comments:
destination is lovely, but one drawback was the tour operators flight times on return. Most leave in the early hours and you are in a waiting area with hundreds of tourists waiting for flights leaving- as I counted 6/7 in one hour blocks! This leads to frustration as not all flights leave on time and a backlog quickly ensues. Why can't the operators use bodrum airport during the day hours when it is hardly used?
Useful Tips:
Prices in the more touristy parts are going up and it won't be long before it is no cheaper than going to Greece or other euro destinations. Look for restaurants frequented by locals where you will receive better food and reasonably priced alcohol.

Comments:
This place was lovely - September is a good time to visit - it is beautifully hot but not too hot, the beaches surrounding Turgutreis are beautiful, the water is warm and the town is lovely. They have a lovely harbour which is being developed as a great complex to eat and visit and their are plenty of boats offering trips to neighbouring islands along the harbour - just go up and ask. The beach is lovely, great cos the beds & umbrellas are free. The local food is amazing and every dish was different but definitely worth a try. If you get a chance try the seaa bass, the chicken casserole and lamb casserole cooked in caly pots and the 'Ottoman Special' which is cooked on a giant flat bed Wok and is kept cooking and sizzling with a naked flame underneath while you eat. Absolutley maazing place, very child friendly and lots of other places to visit while you are there - can get to nearby towns by bus during the day as they run very frequently and a re cheap and the exchange rate is a bonus
Useful Tips:
Saturday market/bazaar behind the mosque is a must - you must haggle as low as you can - they are happy to accept reasonably prices (approx 20 lira)for handbags, gifts, clothes and spices etc so give it a good go. This place is great for a cultural, relaxing and family type holiday where you are made to feel welcome by every one.

Comments:
I loved it, not everyones cup of tea but a great place to meet all kinds of people, rich mix with poor and old with young. The city is ancient but the bars are vibrant and new age. The finish in some of the new trendy bars are on a par with ones in cities at home. The harbour is a great place to sit an people watch!
Useful Tips:
go to the castle its a tourist 'MUST', great city for buying glass ware this place has a lot to offer, great sea side bars and cafe's, and vibrant night life.

Comments:
Great place. It has everything for all. Culture, fantastic weather, great people, food, variation of places and caters for everyone - young, old, quiet, not so quiet, fun, historical, rich and not so rich - definately unspoilt . You name it, it has it.
Useful Tips:
Local cuisine - try the locals food. Experience some of the great places around .Also has good beaches, pools, entertainment, fantastic shopping and enjoy haggling. Unlike other places hotels welcome all not just their paying guests. Try a real kebab.
