Comments:
The best holiday I have enjoyed by far. The wheather was glorious for 10 days spent in Side, foods was light and tasty, but most of all the local people were warm friendly and just a complete delight to be around. I hoilday regularly each year in different parts of Turkey as I'm also married to a Turk from the Black sea region, but my favourite is the Antalya region. I have recommended the southern region of Turkey to family, friends and work colleagues and time again they also agree its the best holiday they had ever experienced.
Useful Tips:
Make sure they drink bottled water rather than local tap water, as you can get a dodgy tummy.

Comments:
I visited Turkey for the first time in August 2008. I visited Side with my family and stayed at the Xanthe Resort I stayed a hotel called the Xanthe hotel. Although during school term, I had to say it was one of the best holidays I had been on. There were sun loungers available every day, a variety of foods, friendly and helpful staff, and the beach with it's white sand was lovely. I would definitely recommend the hotel to others.
Useful Tips:
Look for a hotel with a decent beach, as I stayed in Turkey a year later and the beach was mediocre in comparison to the Xanthe resort. If your young and like going out, I would also recommend staying in a hotel near the city centre as the hotel entertainment is pretty poor and is catered towards the Europeans and Russians.

Comments:
As described on the side this is a fantastic holiday destination with plenty to do in the city or take any day excursion and explore the mountains near by however as it good ass it sounds the shopkeepers are just too friendly never leaving you alone either you in the city or beach. They hug you, they grab you they touch and what is most annoying if you are with a woman they are all over her like some nasty rush. I might sound like some annoying old bloke but trust me at the beginning its great however few days in to your holiday you will know what I am talking about. On the other hand if you are into all this then you will love every single minute. It is great fun as soon as you forget all those annoyances and don't let things get on to you. Have a nice break!!!
Useful Tips:
Fake goods are just on every single corner if you don't know what you are looking for then is better to avoid them. There are highly cost valuables so if you are ready to spend make sure you have done your homework and exactly know what you want to get. DONT BE SCARED TO BARTER as this is very normal in Turkey

Lovely resort with amazing roman ruins, great restaurants, plenty of shops and a fantastic beach. The resort however is aimed more at german and russian tourists than the british and they all prefer the euro as a common form of currency rather than the turkish lira!!! I'm going back there next Thursday so it can't be that bad.
Useful Tips:
Take euro's rather than sterling or lira
