If you're off on holidays to Spain, the picturesque little village of Albir is the place to go. Why? The more culturally inclined can take a trip to the Casa de Cultura complete with library, or potter around the Roman ruins on the beach itself!
Being right next door to Benidorm and Altea, you'll never be stuck for a great night out on your holidays to Albir, whether watching a game in a quiet English pub or strutting your funky stuff in discos and clubs. But there are more than enough bars around the beach itself in which to sip a Margarita and watch those gorgeous sunsets.
For a literal taste of the middle ages, may we suggest a trip to the Castillo del Conde de Alfaz, where you can have a medieval banquet in the dungeons, served by jousting knights.
The beach itself is an award-winning, pristine white mixture of pebble and sand, with the great grassy mountain of Sierra Gelada overlooking. The verdant path over the mountain is worth a walk just to reach the white Lighthouse, which protrudes from the top of the cliff overlooking the coast, offering spectacular sunset views of the entire Costa Blanca.
Albir's calendar is packed full with fiestas, from the street cavalcades of San Jose in March and the Summer Festival in August, to the huge Feast of the Holy Christ in November. Why not join the frivolity and take the time to sample some local paella and tapas, to some great street music?
