Paradise Bay

Holidays

Paradise Bay in Cirkewwa is Mellieha's next-door neighbour on the northern tip of Malta. Situated high up on a clifftop, it offers spectacular views of the Mediterranean. Being in a romantic rural setting, it's perfect for those who wish to holiday in Malta at a slow, tranquil pace so it's very popular with couples especially who are looking to escape and get away from it all.

Families looking for a relaxing break from the stresses of home flock to Paradise Bay for the beach and sheer tranquility the place offers. This may not be as loud and energetic as other resorts, but if you want to put your feet up and replenish yourself then Paradise Bay is for you!

Weather

Famed for being a secluded beach resort, its popularity reaches its peak during the summer months when temperatures often breach 30° Celsius. Holidays in Paradise Bay are still very popular in the winter months with walkers and hikers especially who can get out and take some gentle exercise amidst the spectacular countryside when the temperatures aren't quite so high.

Things To Do on Holidays

As well as being prime hiking territory, Paradise Bay holidays are all about the tranquil beach which is perfect for swimming and snorkelling although its waters are quite deep. It's also one of the best places on Malta to go scuba diving if you're a serious enthusiast as there is a PADI school located at the beachfront hotel.

Nearby Mellieha boasts the largest sandy beach on the island so if you like to visit different beaches but want to be based in a peaceful resort, Paradise Bay is your best bet. The ferry to Gozo also leaves from here at Cirkewwa and that's well worth a day trip.

Things to do: Culture

The beach and the rolling countryside is what gives Paradise Bay holidays their appeal so if it's culture you're after, take a day trip to Valletta or head to Sliema if you're looking to shop until you drop.

Things to do: Nightlife

Most of Paradise Bay's nightlife is centred on the hotels' own entertainment although there are a couple of attractive bars and restaurants to enjoy. There is more choice in Mellieha but the focus of Paradise Bay holidays tends to be more about rest and relaxation. Head further afield towards Bugibba if you're looking to combine a beach holiday here with some livelier nightlife.

Landscape

Paradise Bay's small sandy beach is reached from the clifftop by descending a steep set of steps and its waters are quite deep which means it's not quite as suitable for younger children or weaker swimmers as its more family friendly neighbour Mellieha. Nevertheless, its clear blue waters make it highly appealing to holidaymakers.
