Comments:
This walled city is a wonderful area for 1 or 2 weeks with beuatiful restaurants accomodation and rail and bus links to Pisa,Florence,Viareggio for beach, Montecatini alto Pistoia. We stayed at a wonderful apartments Le Giari run by Claudia and Massimo with authentic italian food and advice on places of interest we would shurely never have found on our own.
Useful Tips:
Take the tain and visit the local villages all easily accessible and climb all the towers in Lucca for the views.Try the local luchesni food wonderful

Comments:
Trapani is a small quiet sicilian town well services by Ryanair from London but its beaches are an utter disgrace, unless you pay to use a tiny private beach you will be sharing the beach with old tyres, plastics and garbage, the locals dont seem to care about tourism
Useful Tips:
Get out of Trapani ASAP, go to Palermo. Dont buy a Terravision bus pass on Ryanair if going to Trapani as they run very infrequently and do not coincide with flights. Local buses stop early, if you are on a late flight your only option will be a very costly taxi ride into Trapani

Comments:
It was fabulous, when I booked I was asked where it was as it seams not many people have heard of the Island! It has the Sun, beautiful beaches and breathtaking views. It was for my honeymoon, (with two children 7 & 9) we had a villa appartment on a private beach, just yards from the main hotel, but you felt like it was your own spot. Everyone was friendly and the food was wonderful where ever we ate, catering for all tastes as well as plenty of traditional Italian dishes. We started with one night in a B&B from ONTB in Italy then wondered down to the ferries to cross to the Island. You don't need to spend a fortune for an Island holiday like this, just book flights to Italy, see a little there first before heading to Ischia, it is wonderful & I would definately go back!!
Useful Tips:
Plenty of transport you can go online & check the ferry & busses out in advance, but they are so regular you never wait long. Ask staff to recomend restaurants to get a real feel of Italian culture, some are tucked away, but worth hunting out!
