Weather

Laganas has a Mediterranean climate offering hot summers and mild winters with copious amounts of sunshine throughout the year. The best time of year to visit Zante is between April and September when the sun is at it's brightest and the temperatures at their highest. Don't worry that it's going to be too hot and sticky during the summer months, cool breezes called Meltemia provide just enough light wind to cool you down.

If a tan isn't top of your list and you would rather avoid the crowds, head to Laganas outside the peak summer months. Late September and October are much more quiet and relaxed but still offer great weather.

Things To Do on Holidays

Laganas is known for being the fun-spot on Zante - and lets face it girls, what's more fun than shopping? The resort is a shoppers paradise. From cute markets where you can find unique goods and one of a kind crafts to souvenir shops and clothes stores were you can pick up designer clothes at great prices.

For many though, it is the stunning beach that makes Laganas their choice above others. Long and sandy, the beach is the perfect place to chill out after a night out!

Things to do: Culture

Laganas was founded around the time of the Trojan War by Zakynthos, son of the King of Troy. It has a rich history that is still celebrated, despite the modernisation of the resort. To witness this it's best to time your visit with one of the local festivals including the Feast of the Virgin Mary on August 15th and December 17th, which marks the death of Agios Dionysios, the patron saint of Zakynthos.

If there's one thing Laganas knows how to do it's nightlife! The resort is full of great bars and clubs and there really is something for everyone. Zero bar is one of the most popular bars on the resort and comes complete with fire-breathing and flare bottles! XParadiso throws the best beach parties around while Cocktails and Dreams is a themed bar based on the Tom Cruise movie Cocktail.

While Laganas rocks into the night, the nearby resorts of Kalamaki and Vassilikos are chilled out, offering a much more laid back and authentically Greek holiday experience.

Laganas is in a fertile area which means much of the land is covered in lush greenery making for some stunning scenery. Terms and Conditions

The Price Match applies only to internet sites that have the identical (i.e. party size, dates, duration, flight times, flight numbers, in flight extras, hotel, room type, number of rooms and board basis) product immediately available all on one site, and the service is priced accurately.
Price Match requests are for bookings made online only, must not be submitted to us without having confirmed an order through our site and must be submitted to us on the same day of your purchase on our website.
You must have taken reasonable care to book on our site at the best available price.
The holiday you are asking us to Price Match must be from a legitimate ABTA and/or ATOL bonded website, available to book online and must include any handling charges, booking fees, credit card fees and such like.
The holiday you are asking us to Price Match cannot include in its price any money off coupons, promotional vouchers or offers or bulk-buy discounts.
The Price Match guarantee does not include On the Beach matching our own offers which may change subject to availability or holidays sold through internet auction sites.
Please note that we will not Price Match individual elements of a holiday where you have chosen to book the flight and hotel with us - we will only Price Match a better overall total price. For example, if you have booked a holiday including a flight and a hotel on our site, we will not reduce our price where you find a lower price for just the flight or just the hotel separately and where we offer to Price Match a holiday, both elements of the holiday must be available on a single website, bookable as one unit, at a lower overall price.

- Summary of overall price including any discounts and total payable.

Please note we cannot accept responsibility where you have failed to send us the information requested in the format required or where a URL from the site you are asking us to Price Match is no longer active, as it prevents us from viewing the comparison holiday.

Should this mean that we are unable to view a Price Match request from you on the day of purchase we will not be obliged to match the price for a booking if you later send a working URL or complete screen shot.

We will review the details of your Price Match request and reply to you via email within 7 working days. Refunds will be re-credited to the original card used to make your online purchase within 14 days or where only a deposit has been paid; the amount will be discounted from your outstanding balance.

What is protected? Everything!

Scheduled flights booked with On the Beach are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Our ATOL number is 10017.
Charter flights booked with On the Beach are protected by the CAA under the charterer’s own ATOL.
Low cost or no frills flights booked with On the Beach, are protected by a combination of airline failure insurance and a new ATOL approved On the Beach Trust Fund, which is managed by an independent corporate trustee.
Overseas hotel accommodation is covered by the new On the Beach Trust, with your money safe and secure right up until you return home.
Overseas transfers and car hire are also covered by the new On the Beach Trust.

On the Beach has an ATOL from the CAA. It is a requirement of the offer of an ATOL that we provide financial protection arrangements for all bookings which include a flight, accommodation, car hire or transfers.

This protection is provided by a combination of a CAA approved Trust Fund (which protects you in the unlikely event of our insolvency) and airline failure insurance, meaning any element of your holiday affected by supplier failure will be refunded, and we will help to ensure the other components of your holiday will still be able to go ahead.

Please note the Trust is a approved by the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) who manage ATOL (the financial protection scheme). We are also a Member of ABTA which means you have the benefit of ABTA’s assistance and Code of Conduct.

What should I do if this affects me?

In the event of airline insolvency simply contact On the Beach and we will remunerate your lost monies or arrange your flight home if you are overseas at the time of the collapse.

This service is part of On the Beach’s commitment to financially protect your booking.

On the Beach are covered against financial insolvencies under a corporate insurance through Whitman Gowdridge Insurance Brokers Ltd, and is provided by International Passenger Protection (IPP) Ltd, the worldwide leaders in providing insolvency protection to the travel industry.

All security on IPP policies is provided by a panel of leading Insurers and Reinsurers with combined net assets in excess of €100 Billion.

Terms & Conditions

As is standard with online travel agents, booking administration fees will not be refundable in the event of airline failure, neither will in-flight extras and credit card charges.
