Comments:

This was our 4th trip to Crete and we will be back again. We love the archeology and the history. So easy to take local service buses to get around and visit places. The local people are friendly and helpful.

Useful Tips:

Make use of local bus services that are very efficient and economical. Book your trips in the towns and not with the tour operators to ensure best value for money.

Having been to this island on ten separate occasions, latterly as an adult without the parents for livelier holidays, I feel I am qualified enough to comment on what it has to offer. Weather from May through to September is pretty much guaranteed to bring sunshine, with temperatures reaching as high as 38 in the peak of the summer (or 42, if you happen to come during a mini-heatwave). I personally choose to spend my holidays in the region of Lasithi, i.e. Aghios Nikolaos / Elounda. However, I have also spent short stays at Ierapetra, Hersonissos, Koutouloufari, Sitia and other areas nearby. All have so much variety to experience, with plenty of places to eat, lots to see and do, and beautiful scenery to take in. I have NOT been to Malia so cannot comment on that. All I'll say is, I go abroad to relax, bask in the sun, eat out with mates and the locals, and then enjoy a few drinks surrounded by active nightlife. Malia does not appeal! Hope this helps.

For the price that we paid to go, it was a nice destination. The people were pretty friendly, there was enought to do for the week that we was there, the beach was clean with a good atmosphere. The food wasn't the best I have had when away but it was eatable. I would not advise for any one to visit Sticky Fingers as the food is absolutely horrid! I would definately advise people between 16(if your allowed to holiday alone) and 26 (if you are not too grown up for your age) to visit, especially if you love the raving scene but don't like all the drama and fighting that happens in places like aya napa!

Useful Tips:

The Beaches, the Bars the Water Park. Be careful of the peds, don't go any where except motor fun as tthe rest are complete cons and it could end up costing you thousands!
