Comments:

Dahab is a small coastal Desert town, located close to some of the most spectacular Red Sea diving opportunities.

Useful Tips:

It is an isolated destination within a Desert location, so good for natural pursuits but not a place for neon style night life or the trappings associated with top level luxury. The advantages of Dahab are its unspoiled aspects providing a rare opportunity for a Western visitor to experience both the beauty of the Desert as well as spectacular dive locations, including the World famous 'Blue Hole' and the 'Canyons.' Trips inland to the desert include a visit to the Monastery of St Catherine, the longest continuosly inhabited settlement on Earth, which is rich in Biblical imagery, including the Mount Sinai location where Moses received his commandments and the location of the burning bush. Inside the monastery is a spectacular collection of Orthodox Icons that alone would make a trip there worthwhile.
