Comments:

Limassol is a grea to visit if you want a mix of tourism and a taste of the real Cyprus. The Four Seasons beach offers a lovely safe environment for children and has great water sports and scuba diving. More sun and fun can be enjoyed at Fassouri Water Park, one of the best I've ever been too!! If it's shopping you prefer visit Anexartisis street where you'll find British High Street chains like Mango, Zara and Topshop, mixed in with delicous Cypriot boutiques. For a bit of evening culture, visit Limassol Castle and the old town. Here you'll find some great restaurants amid the atmosphere of the square, eating al fresco by the walls of the flood lit ruin. Or branch off and eat in the hidden gems frequented by locals like Pia Taga, which translates as Little Plate, offering a different slant to the traditional meze. And don't forget to take a trip into the Troodos mountains. Lovely in the summer, spectacular in the winter and great for skiing! Embrace Cyprus, visit Limassol!!

Useful Tips:

If you hire a car, be warned, the Cypriots are terrible drivers. On the plus side they drive on the same side of the road as us!! Buses run along the seafront regularly and are easy to use. Try the pastries in the local bakeries, Halloumi bread is wonderful! Buy local spirits as named brands are very much dearer. If you visit the waterpark take you're own food - even though you're not meant too!! The choice is limited and not too healthy. Try zouviner - the local moonshine - vile but a must. A visit during the wine festival is great. Really gets you amidst the culture. Everyone speaks english so no need to brush up on any languages.

Comments:

Limassol in Cyprus is one of the most lovely paces you can go and visit. The beaches are nice and clean and the water is crystal blue You do not have anyone hassleing you to buy from them like in some tourist places. You are free to look in the shop windows withou being pounced on. The people are really friendly and say hello to you when you pass them. We will go back again thats for sure.

Useful Tips:

Go into the local resturants they very good and value for money. Take plety of money as you will want to spend it.

Comments:

I lived in Cyprus for the year and had a wonderful time, glorious weather, friendly people, relaxed atmosphere and a very eaasy going pace of life. I would recommend anyone to visit Cyrpus as there are places for all to enjoy. The East of the island is lively for the younger people, Paphos is a good destination for those who want a mixture of relaxed and lively. A must is a trip up into the Trusos mountians, Omodos is a wonderful village, a wander into the back streets takes you to real Cyprus and is so pretty. In the winter you can ski in the mountains in the morning and relax on the beach in the afternoon!

Useful Tips:

The island is not huge and it's a shame to visit without going up into the mountains.
