Costa Teguise Holidays

Thinking of a sunshine break in Lanzarote? Well, you’re hardly alone! This Canary Island paradise attracts roughly three million of us a year to it’s scenic climes and blue-flag beaches, and with more and more budget airlines making the four-hour trip, it’s officially one of Britain’s favourite destinations. It doesn’t take a sociologist to tell why: amazing Atlantic seascapes, precipitous mountains and natural beauty vie with all the trappings of the classic tourist jaunt. There are pubs, clubs and restaurants galore, and enough culture to keep even the most fastidious savant occupied. Costa Teguise holidays have all this and more!

Weather

Many people come on holiday to Lanzarote in winter due to it’s renown as a perennially sunny hotspot, with blue skies and winter temperatures averaging around 18° Celsius. It’s the summer peak that the island is famed for though when temperatures soar to around 28° Celsius. If you’re too hot, splash into the pool or get some watersports in on the beach!

Attractions

The aquatic theme park, Aquaparque, is the main attraction for family Costa Teguise holidays, it’s waterslides and swimming facilities perfect for kids of the young or old variety. The sporty will be spoiled for choice too, with plenty of great golfing facilities and spas. Those seeking some culture can take in the sights at the inland Cesar Manrique Foundation, whose beautiful architecture has to be seen to be believed. If you want some adventure on holidays to Costa Teguise then head up to the Cactus Gardens, Lava Caves and a sequestered Agricultural Museum complete with windmills, further up the island at Teguise.

Nightlife

Costa Teguise holidays will see you enjoying the typical Canarian nightlife: eclectic and vivacious, but not overly noisy or wild. You can visit the local seafood restaurants and Canarian bars for a true taste of Lanzarote’s culture, or the numerous pubs and clubs more tailored to the British market. Boogie away in the disco and nightclubs inland, or take an evening promenade past the seaside tavernas silhouetted by the slow sunsets. For a change in scenery head to the island's party capital, Puerto del Carmen!

Landscape

Las Cucharas is the biggest white-sanded beach here, perfect for surfing or just plain relaxation. The three beaches here are among Lanzarote’s finest, with uninterrupted vistas of the clear azure surrounding you, and there are some fantastic hikes and rides to be had inland, through the nearby Timanfaya Park with it’s rugged, volcanic landscape, or the little hamlets and fishing villages that pepper the coastline.

Culture

Come in February for the island’s glittering Carnival, or book your cheap holiday in summer for the holy festivals of Corpus Christi and San Gines. Don’t expect solemnity, these ostensibly devout celebrations are mainly an excuse to party, with exotic dancers, food and music galore. Whenever you come, be sure to check out the local Sunday market at Teguise, replete with folk music and hand-made treasures being plied from numerous local vendors.
