Comments:
The area of Cala Bona has a great mixture of Spanish, German and British influence. With a gorgeous harbour & beach to choose from you are spoilt for choice as to where to sit/relax and watch the world go by. Cala Bona is a short walk from Cala Millior where all the night time activities can be found. A destination i will revisit.
Useful Tips:
Pay a visit to the harbour oposite the Cala Bona Hotel you will find three offices offering boat trips around the island and further up the coast - i would recommend the 'Spanish' agent's office in the middle as that's where you'll find the best rate for a trip. The tourist information centre was only open before 12pm when we visited so ensure you pop in early enough to gather all your information.

Comments:
Cala Bona is a great destination as it is quieter than a lot of the other resorts in Mallorca. The marina is lovely and there's a small beach (larger beach at Cala Millor). Lots of nice restaurants and bikes available to hire. You can also take a variety of boat trips to other resorts. All in all a perfect location for a good value holiday.
Useful Tips:
Sandwich shop on the marina offers a huge choice of sandwiches and traditional cakes and sweets.

What a lovely resort this is! Cala Bona is a small friendly old fishing port with all the Spanish charm but with a decidedly Brit feel. There are some wonderful restaurants like Smithy's and the Red Lion together with a must visit Karaoke Bar Sandancers. There is a really pretty harbour and a couple of lovely beaches although they are a little rocky in places. Just a short walk away is the resort of Cala Millor with long sandy beaches and numerous, bars, restaurants, cafes and a couple of clubs. This is a fabulous holiday for families and the more senior citizens and I will have no hesitation in re-booking. The Hotel Bonaire is a must for anyone who has children. There is entertainment on from morning to night and the Thomsons reps look after children from 0 to 15 with loads and loads of activities.
Useful Tips:
Sandancers Karaoke bar, Smithy's, Red Lion, Argos bar right on the beach.

Comments:
My third visit to Majorca but a new resort for me.Everybody was so friendly, locals and tourists alike. This fishing village is ideal for couples or families. Very picturesque and plenty of activities day and night. The beaches vary from coves to longer stretches, blending in to cala millor which is a pleasant stroll away along the promenade. For shoppers there are plenty of gift shops and perfumeries within walking distance or the more adventurous could catch a bus to bigger destinations including the mallorcan capital of Palma for a very reasonable price. Restaurants and bars are numerous, ranging from quiet intimate places to more lively with entertainment thrown in. The harbour in Cala Bona is especially pretty at night with lovely restaurants facing the water. To summarise this resort is arguably the gem of Majorca catering for everyone. I found it idyllic with enough to occupy myself and 2 teenaged boys Quiet enough to be restful/busy enough for excitement.GO!!!
Useful Tips:
Explore further afield with local transport,a fraction of the cost of operated tours.Visit the caves of drach and the local zoo,a must for children.Enjoy a meal by the harbour or just a nightcap to round off your evening. For budding fishermen or women it's worth investing in a 10 euro rod and sitting out on the rocks; best in the evening though as the sun gets very hot. If you're lucky enough to catch anything local restaurants often buy. Local markets are fun and you can take a boat to other villages, for the budget conscience the local buses cost at least 50% less than tour buses or boats. I personally would book self catering or half board because for those all inclusives I felt they missed out on wonderful dining experiences. Regardless of problems with pound/euro, prices are still reasonable. Get sterling cheques, cash them in resort comission free.charges on euro cheques and the rates work better in sterling.Avoid pharmacy for toiletries, take from home much cheaper. Enjoy!!
