The well organised Dassia beach remains one of the favourites for tourists on the island. Despite the number of trees which circle around the beach here there is a distinct lack of wind, meaning the alluring sea is tame and difficult to resist for a calming swim. There are plenty of sunbeds available for everybody, and with a great choice of watersports aswell it is ideally suited for a family visit. At one side at the beach lies the awe-inspiring Mount Pantokratoras, and Dassia offers one of the best views of this across Corfu.   Read more about this beachMinimise

Achillion Palace. This luxurious villa was built in the late 1800s as the summer retreat of Empress Elisabeth of Austria. It is one of Corfu's most popular attractions and is well worth the visit for the beautiful murals, statues and paintings. The gardens are magnificent with lovely views over Corfu Town and the sea. You may recognise the Palace as the location for the casino in the 1981 James Bond film 'For Your Eyes Only'. The Palace is located in the beautiful village of Gastouri, about 10 kms south of Corfu Town.   Read moreMinimise
