warm weather for march and friendly servants in the hotel, but do not go on the streets if you don't wanna buy things you really do not need. They are so good selling stuff. and remember to give tips. all the time, then people are ready to do everything for you to keep you happy.
Useful Tips:
stay in the hotel area to be safe from sellers

WOMEN: Not recommended for solo women travellers. I can't stress this enough! I expected a little ogling and maybe a few chat-up lines, but this was horrendous! COUPLES/FAMILES/GROUPS: That said, Yasmine Hammamet is an ok seaside tourist area, with beautiful beaches and nice resorts, fine if you're travelling with someone and just want to sit by the beach. Because it's a newly-contructed tourist zone, there's not much culture and no ruins to see. For that kind of holiday, try Tunis. SHOPPING: Don't buy anything until you've shopped around for a couple of days and know what things are really worth. If you do try haggling, remember that the first price could be up to 10 times what you should pay, so don't be taken in (like I was). It's better to look for the 'Prix Fixe' shops, where everything is priced and that's what you pay. FOOD: There are some great restaurants and cafes so it's worth getting off the resort when you can. WEATHER: Jan was wet grey + windy!
Useful Tips:
Language tip: although English is widely spoken, the locals really appreciate it if you speak a little French and/or Arabic!

Lovely marble hotels. Staff make you feel special. Very friendly. Clean pools and beaches. Service and cleaniness excellent. If you can say 'no merci' it is the place to go. No euros and a short flight to North Africa. Go and enjoy a different culture. Weather brilliant too. Desert trip a must and of course the camels and El Djem where you can pretend to be a gladiator. Star wars fans will enjoy a visit to Tatuine and the troglodite caves, where folk are still living. Overal a family place to visit too.
Useful Tips:
Dont pay the first price you are asked. Be brave and haggle there are some bargins. Dont be afraid to say no or no merci. Remember staff are not paid very much so a tip is appreciated. Change your money at the airport on arrival. Tips can be made in English money too. Have fun and relax.

Much more exciting than I thought - and wished I was there 2 weeks and not just 1. Although I enjoy the souks and doing some haggling, it was a relief to have set-price government shops at the outside of souks. Great for shopping but also for seeing what prices should be when haggling! Tourist shops provided maps and information. Easy to walk around. Very safe. Efficient local buses - and very cheap! Efficient trains - and cheap! So much to see and do including millennium old fortresses, mosques, living museum homes, etc. The people were very friendly and helpful - a lot of smiles. The food was great - seafood and pastries being the specialities along with tagines! Wished I had more time to do another few tours - especially the overnight one in the Sahara - guess I'll have to return! And as a single woman travelling alone I had no difficulties or trouble and never felt unsafe.
Useful Tips:
Eat a brik - local pastry dish for lunch/snack with egg, potato, herbs, seafood/fish ... haggle in the souks especially for ceramics, leather goods, crocheted items and handicrafts ... ride a camel and go on a tour which includes learning Berber cooking and having a snack/lunch - very interesting! Buy your tours when you arrive and not before - much cheaper by half! And the reps will usually find tours on days you want instead of set days! Go for a walk on the miles of white sandy beaches. Go for a boat trip on the Med. Watch the local fishermen casting their nets - like they've done for millennia! Stop at a patisserie - definite influence from their French colonial past with a Tunisian twist! Don't take a horse/cart ride as they can be rip offs. Ask the hotel how much taxis should cost to local destinations and haggle with the taxi drivers to make sure you don't pay over the odds! Taste the local wine and beer! And enjoy - it's a wonderful destination!

Comments:
well i wouldnt go again put it like that. For the whole week wanted nothing more than to go home. All they are after if your money constantly wanting tips for everything not a nice place for young couples at all.
Useful Tips:
Watch out for being pulled into shops , being stopped (physically) by people wanting you to come into their bars. No one wanting to help you unless for money. And people shouting abuse at you if you try to ignor them or say sorry ive got no money.
