The nautical-style blue and white rooms are carpeted and come with an en suite bathroom with hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, a hire safe, and tea and coffee making facilities. The air conditioning in the rooms is individually regulated. All rooms feature a balcony or a terrace.
Built in 1925 and renovated in 2003, this hotel comprises a 2-storey main building and annexe, with a total of 155 rooms. Guests are welcomed in the lobby which houses a 24-hour reception desk, a safe, and a currency exchange desk. Within the hotel there is a small supermarket, several shops, a hairdressing salon, public Internet access, a TV room, and a bicycle hire and storage service. Dining options include a bar, a lounge with an open fire, and a restaurant with a separate non-smoking area and highchairs for infants. Business guests may use the conference rooms. Room, laundry and medical services are also on offer, as well as a car park and a garage. For children, there is a playroom, a playground, and a kids' club.
This hotel's surroundings, with breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean and Kaaiman's Gorge, demonstrate Africa's indescribable beauty. The hotel has good links to National Highway N2, making it easy to reach by car, and a great base for exploring the surrounding area. Numerous shopping and entertainment venues, as well as various restaurants, are located in the immediate vicinity. The beach is roughly a 5-minute walk away, and the Wilderness National Park is only a stone's throw. George Airport is approximately 35 km from the hotel.
Guests can select their breakfast, lunch and dinner from a buffet. Lunch and dinner may be taken as a set menu. In addition, the hotel caters for guests with special dietary requirements.

In the well-maintained grounds there is a heated pool with numerous sun loungers and parasols, and a poolside snack bar. Guests can work out in the gym, play mini-golf, or explore the surrounding countryside by mountain bike or on horseback. Further leisure options include table tennis, beach volleyball, billiards, canoes, and pedaloes. For an additional fee guests can play tennis or squash, and bowling fans are well provided for. Furthermore, guests may relax with a massage or a spa treatment, in the therapeutic bath, the Jacuzzi, the steam room, or the sauna. The hotel also offers a varied and interesting entertainment programme. A golf course is located around 10 km away.

- British Citizens must hold a passport valid for at least 6 months from date of entry, and hold valid return or onward journey tickets along with adequate funds for the duration of their stay. Always check before you go, but currently no visa is required for lengths of stay up to 3 months (90 days).

- The country's Constitution guarantees equal status to 11 official languages to cater for the country's diverse peoples and their cultures. However English is the most commonly spoken language.
- Jabs
- Always check with your GP or travel nurse in plenty of time before departure as the situation can change, but it is recommended that you will need up-to-date Hepatitis A and B. Typhoid vaccinations with Polio Boosters are recommended.
- Electricity
- South Africa runs on 220/230 volts electricity (a link to our British colonial past!). The plug sockets accept the old British style plug with three round pins. So if you are coming from a country that uses 2 pin plugs or the square shaped 3 pin plugs, you will need an adaptor to use appliances.
- Currency
- The unit of currency is the Rand, and is divided into 100 cents. Rands come in denominations of R10, R20, R50, R100 and R200 notes. The R20 note looks very similar to the R200 note, so be careful when handing over money! The rand is a shaky currency, and it's likely that you will get more rands for your unit currency when you leave than when you arrive. Since the exchange rate does fluctuate constantly, we suggest you consult our currency converter for the latest rates.
