It is very difficult to know where to start when you want to explain what a wonderful place Oman is to visit. You have so much to choose from, fantastic arabesque mosques, stone forts and very friendly people everywhere you go. A spectacular coast line with small harbors, fishing villages and miles of empty golden sandy beaches are just a few good reasons to visit this wonderful country. For the more adventurous try a trip to Wahibah Sands for 4x4 driving or camel trekking. Spend the night under the desert stars in a traditional Bedouin camp.
Useful Tips:
While in Muscat I recommend taking a trip to Mutrah old souq, which is an experience for all the senses. The first thing you notice is the unmistakable aromatic aroma of frankincense as you walk through the maze of brightly coloured silks, exquisite embroidered cushions and beautiful hand made carpets. Oman is renowned for some of the finest silver craftsmanship in the world, Mutrah souq has a fantastic selection of jewelers, each has its on beauty and charm. Whether you want a framed silver khanjar (Omani dagger), or a delicate crafted necklace here is where you find so many wonderful artefacts.
