We have been twice to this hotel in 2007/2008, and we are planning to go again this August. There are so many people who go back year after year to this location. The staff are really friendly, but service can be very slow, especially at night,as everyone tends to be in the one same place for the entertainment. The beach is one of the best for space & comfort. The on-site diving centre is extremely professional & this is supposed to have one of the best house-reefs around that area. The one thing that is starting to let the hotel down is the fact that children under seven go free, so as you can imagine it gets full of families from the surrounding areas & countries, who have started to use the Hilton. All entertainment etc is meant to be conducted in English, but the "locals" seem to object to this & some even tried to cause a bit of trouble over this. Hopefully, this will have been resolved when we go back to meet-up with friends who we met the first year we went.
Useful Tips:
You don,t need to tip anyone first, as in some places, just be friendly & they will treat you very well. Be on the beach early if you want any beds/umbrellas, as they get snapped up quickly. When they get to know you they may even reserve the same place for you each morning if you wish. Make sure you keep water in your fridge to take with you as the beach bar opens at 10am, & there may not be anyone there to supply it if you don't have any, (plus theirs may be warm as it is stocked up each morning,) Go to the bar yourself if you can't get a waiter, this makes the head barman "G-up" the waiters as you aren't meant to have to get your own drinks!!
