Weather

Temperatures here are amazing to say the least with 18° Celsius common in winter and often hitting above 26° Celsius in high summer. Sun cream and shorts, yes. Winter warmers? No!
Attractions
So, assuming you manage to tear yourself away from the beach, where to start on your holidays to Los Pocillos? Well, you can go riding or hiking through the volcanic caves inland, take the kids to the Aqua Park for some family fun, or the huge theme park of Rancho Texas, with it's treasure hunts and exotic wildlife. Culture-vultures can visit the many museums all over the island, dedicated to contemporary art, pre-Spanish history and modern architecture. Something for everyone, we'd wager.

Nightlife
The main stomping-grounds for eateries pubs here are at the commercial centres of Los Pocillos, Costa Mar and Jameous Playa, all within walking distance from the coastline. The watering holes are as diverse as you'd imagine, with English and Irish hostelries vying with local and upmarket Canarian bars for your attention. Younger groups can take the short taxi ride to Puerto del Carmen, just over a mile away, to experience the town's amazing clubs and discos. Party time!

Landscape
The peaceful, golden sands of Playa de los Pacillos are a welcome antidote to the bustle of nearby Puerto del Carmen, with a relatively unspoiled, tranquil seafront giving way in a huge arc to the warm Atlantic waters, stretching out endlessly before you. The beach itself is large, conducive to attracting those who want to spread out, and it has had a great deal of money spent on it to keep it clean and natural, yet with all the amenities you would within easy walking distance.
Culture
Lanzarote is famed for it's calendar chock-full of fiestas, holy days and celebrations. By far the biggest of these is the Carnival in February, which sees Puerto del Carmen submerged with dancers, processions and garlands accompanied by folk music of all kinds. In Los Pocillos, the most intriguing celebration is St Carmen's festival, a wide procession of fishing boats and marine paraphernalia, all making it's way to the open coast as a tribute to the patron saint of the sea, and for good luck for the fishermen in the upcoming year.
